Please return orders back to the school by October 17.

Parents and guardians,
We have received notice from our principal that curriculum night has been postponed. A copy of the notice is available here.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Please join us this Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the McKee staff room for our annual general meeting. It's a great way to meet other parents and get involved in your community. There will be a report from the council and the principal. Elections for this years council will be held. See our September newsletter for some information. You can find our nomination form on the "About us" page.
Looking forward to seeing you there! Free babysitting, parking and refreshments provided.

Dear parents and guardians,

Check out our September newsletter for details on upcoming SAC events: Welcome back BBQ and Annual General meeting/elections.  If you have a couple of hours to spare during the day, we are looking for volunteers to help with pizza lunch (send an email to [email protected]). You are also encouraged to run for the SAC executive. Click here for nomination forms.

Hope you have all had a relaxing summer vacation. The School Advisory Council (SAC) is excited about  the new year and looks forward to meeting you at the Welcome Back BBQ, on Thursday, September 13. More information to be sent home this week!

Join as at the last meeting of the school year. Come say farewell and thank you to our principal Mrs. Cheryl Patterson, and meet incoming Principal Mr. Domenic Giorgi. Food and babysitting provided.

"Play Again" highlights the rapidly decreasing number of opportunities children have to play outdoors in our society. According to Peter Berg of Planet Drum, the “average” American child recognizes over 100 corporate logos but can identify fewer than 10 plants, spends 90 % of their time indoors, and more than 7 hours a day with entertainment media.  A most challenging statement made refers to the reduced health outcomes that are being projected for this group. According to Richard Louv, journalist and author of the best-selling book, Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children from Nature-Deficit Disorder, physicians are saying that this may be the first generation to die earlier than their parents.

Trustee Mari Rutka has arranged for a screening of this documentary tomorrow night, Tuesday, May 8th, at 7 p.m. at Bayview Middle School, 25 Bunty Lane. Everyone is welcome.

"Frozen Yogurt Fridays" season is finally here and the impression I get from my own daughter is that the students are really excited about it. Although we have volunteers for this Friday (May 4) we need some more parent volunteers on other Fridays. If you have time between 11:15 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on any upcoming Friday, AND you have a valid police check, please let our Fro-Yo coordinator Farveh know by sending an e-mail to [email protected]

Check out this month's newsletter for some great family ideas!
