"Play Again" highlights the rapidly decreasing number of opportunities children have to play outdoors in our society. According to Peter Berg of Planet Drum, the “average” American child recognizes over 100 corporate logos but can identify fewer than 10 plants, spends 90 % of their time indoors, and more than 7 hours a day with entertainment media. A most challenging statement made refers to the reduced health outcomes that are being projected for this group. According to Richard Louv, journalist and author of the best-selling book, Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children from Nature-Deficit Disorder, physicians are saying that this may be the first generation to die earlier than their parents.
