A large audience of concerned parents attended the forum on overcrowding tonight to hear about the facts of the present situation and to give their input on the options available for the short and long terms. Parents are encouraged to contact Trustee Mari Rutka (see side panel "Our Ward") with questions, concerns and ideas. More details of the meeting will be made available soon as well as contact information for various municipal and provincial representatives. Please check back. We need to make our concerns heard!
At the last meeting, Trustee Mari Rutka discussed some of the obstacles facing TDSB in dealing with the overcrowding at McKee. An application has been made to the Ministry of Education to obtain emergency money to deal with this and at the meeting this upcoming Monday, Rutka and TDSB staff will be in attendance to tell us what the response is from the provincial government and to discuss possible solutions. Please plan to attend. (Note the SAC meeting originally planned for June 16 has been cancelled to accommodate this forum.)
